Exhibit: Mission to the Deep

Discover Alien Life Forms

May 2009
Journey to the ocean’s depths in a remote-controlled submarine and see bizarre deep-sea creatures like vampire squid, giant deep-sea jellies and spookfish. The animals who live in the mysterious depths of the midwater have adapted to weightlessness, almost total darkness and infrequent meals.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) is a nonprofit institution where scientists and engineers work together to conduct cutting-edge research that's changing what we know about the ocean and what's needed to protect ocean life.
