Internship Opportunities
We're committed to developing the next generation of ocean conservationists through our internship program. We inspire, engage and connect students in the hope of achieving lasting marine conservation outcomes and influencing ocean policy. We also seek to increase diversity in the sciences, and acknowledge the variety of cultures that enrich our world.
Past Aquarium interns have gone on to attend veterinary school, serve on a boat studying whales in the North Atlantic, do photo research in Iceland and work for major conservation organizations. Where will your internship take you?
All internships are academically competitive. Candidates should be upper division or graduate student with pertinent course, lab and field work in their major areas of study.
Our primary focus is on students enrolled in American universities and is limited to U.S. citizens.
All internships are unpaid.
To be considered for the program, students should apply for one position only and must complete the following:
- Application
- Curriculum vitae
- Transcript (unofficial will be accepted)
- Two letters of reference from professors or other professionals that speak to applicable skills
Acceptance into the program is contingent upon successful completion of an interview and background check.
Deadlines
- Fall applications due June 1
- Spring applications due December 1
- Summer applications due March 1
Commitment
Schedules are generally 12-40 hours per week for 12-16 weeks.
